Steve
Since I could walk, I have been interested in anything with an engine, cars, bikes, planes and even tractors. Growing up I had plenty of practice driving and riding off-road, and I really couldn’t wait to turn 17 and pass my driving test. This was much more important to me than any school exam.
I really wanted to pass my test on my 17th birthday, so I had sent away (no internet in those days) my application form and payment a couple weeks beforehand. I was gutted when the appointment card landed on the door mat and I realised I was going to have to wait another 12 days!
It’s not all about cars though, I am still a keen motorcyclist. I am a member of the Carron Valley motorcycle club and Forth Valley Institute of Advanced Motorists, motorcycle division. I am glad the safety gear is much more appropriate these days too!

Dressed in all the mod con 70s safety gear – helmet and wooly jumper.
I grew up watching ‘The Professionals’ and fell in love with the Ford Capri’s featured in the show.
Soon after I had passed my test, there was only one car on my shopping list; I’ve owned the car above ever since.
